VIEW: Part-Time Village Treasurer Job Description
The Village of Vernon is seeking qualified candidates that are enthusiastic about the municipal treasurer profession, to perform on site the statutory duties as a part-time treasurer.
Responsibilities of the position include those listed in the Wisconsin State Stats. §61.26, cash accounts receivable, general accounting functions, development and performance analysis of the annual budget, tax preparation and collection. Other functions of the position as required and providing excellent customer service to residents and the public. Approximately 10 to 15 hours per week are typical, but hours increase at the end of the year during tax time. Anticipated hourly rate is $18.00 to $28.00 per hour DOE.
The candidates that have experience working in municipal government or a related field, certification as a Municipal Treasurer, or the ability to start the process of getting certified within one year; a degree in accounting or business/public administration are preferred. The candidate must also possess excellent communication and computer skills, a strong interest customer service and must perform well under pressure and meet deadlines.
